Setup, shortcuts and the small things that make it work.
What do I need?
An iPhone Duo with iOS 26 or later and Apple’s Shortcuts app.
How do I set up fold sounds?
In Duo Sounds, tap Set Up Fold Sounds. Add each shortcut. In Shortcuts, edit each one, tap the small arrow after “Opened” or “Closed”, and turn on Automation. Then test both.
The Add button opened Shortcuts, but not the shortcut.
Come back to Duo Sounds and tap “Didn’t open? Try again”.
Why is there no sound when I fold?
Check your volume. In Silent Mode, turn on Play in Silent Mode in Duo Sounds Settings. Make sure both Opening and Closing automations are switched on in Shortcuts.
How do I change sounds?
Pick new sounds in Duo Sounds and tap Update Sounds. You do not need to edit the shortcuts.
How do I remove fold sounds?
Delete “Duo Sounds – Opening” and “Duo Sounds – Closing” in Shortcuts.
Does the website preview set up my phone?
No. The preview only plays a sample in your browser. Phone setup happens in Duo Sounds and Apple’s Shortcuts app.
