Set different ringtones for each SIM on Samsung Galaxy
On a supported Samsung Galaxy, open Settings → Sounds and vibration → Ringtone, choose SIM 1 or SIM 2, and select a different sound for each. Some phones label the lines USIM and eSIM. This lets you distinguish the number being called; a contact ringtone instead identifies the caller.

Choose two sounds before assigning the lines
You can use built-in sounds without another app. For ready-made alternatives, open Ringy, choose a tone and complete its supported setup. Then return to Samsung Settings to assign each line explicitly. Installing a tone in Ringy is not evidence that both SIM assignments changed.
Pick sounds you can easily tell apart: for example, Ding Ringtone for one number and Marimba (Bass Boosted) for the other. Preview and obtain them in the app; access options are shown there. The website does not play or download the full recordings.
Set the ringtone for SIM 1 and SIM 2
- Open Settings → Sounds and vibration → Ringtone.
- Select SIM 1 and choose its sound.
- Return to the line selector, select SIM 2, and choose a different sound.
- Use the picker’s confirmation control if shown, or go back after selecting a built-in tone. Reopen each line to check its selection.
Samsung’s UK instructions explicitly include the SIM selection step. This is a Samsung workflow, not a promise that every Android phone has the same menu.
Use a physical SIM and eSIM
Samsung Service also documents choosing separate sounds for USIM and eSIM. Those names can replace SIM 1 and SIM 2. Menu wording and available controls depend on the model and software.
To identify your configured lines, check Settings → Connections → SIM manager. Samsung offers different physical-SIM and eSIM combinations across devices. Check your exact model’s specifications rather than assuming two physical slots or eSIM support. You do not need to transfer, delete or convert a SIM to choose a ringtone.
Add your own saved audio
Inside the selected line’s ringtone picker, tap +, choose a local audio file, then Done. If it is absent from Tracks, Samsung’s UK guide suggests looking in Folders. Streaming-app offline music is not the same as a selectable audio file.
If your picker has Play selected highlights only, Samsung says switching it off plays the file from the beginning. For more preparation help, follow Samsung ringtone setup or trim the sound to start at the right moment.
Only one SIM or the wrong ringtone appears?
Samsung notes that a device without dual SIM may show only SIM 1. If you expect two lines, check which plans are configured in SIM manager and whether your exact model supports the combination. If the separate sound control is still absent, use Samsung’s support for that model and software version. Do not reset the phone or remove an eSIM just to troubleshoot this menu.
A sound assigned to one person is a separate setting. If only one caller sounds different, inspect that person’s contact ringtone. Message alerts also have their own notification-sound controls; selecting a call ringtone does not configure every alert.
Test both numbers
Our recommended check is to have someone make a normal phone call to each number separately while the phone is idle. Start with a caller without a custom contact tone. Note the line displayed and listen for the expected sound. An in-app preview alone does not test either incoming-call assignment.
If neither call sounds, use the silent or missing ringtone checklist. Keep your previous working selections until both tests pass. The owner’s earlier single-line Samsung test does not verify this dual-SIM procedure; these instructions are based on the manufacturer documentation linked below.

Samsung UK, US and Samsung Service documentation reviewed October 24, 2026. Dual-SIM incoming-call assignments were not physically tested by Ringy in this review. The existing owner-reported Galaxy A16 test covers a single ringtone, not two SIMs. Controls vary by model and software.
